In 1980, Ton Ottevanger started working in the car export trade. In 2006, he founded Transmotors. With over 30 years experience of exporting cars around the globe, Ton has obtained a wealth of knowledge, technical know-how, and invaluable experience. By passing the baton over to his son, Jan, who has been working at Transmotors for years prior, Transmotors has evolved into a real family-owned business. In the 20 years since its start as a business, Transmotors has earned the right to exist and has shown it is in it for the long run. With Jan taking over, shortly after moving to a larger, modernized facility, Transmotors is not just looking back on 30+ years of global excellence, but keeps looking ahead.

History
Ton Ottevanger started working in the car export trade. Ton not only gained experience within the company, but also grew the company itself into one of the biggest car traders of Toyota vehicles outside of Europe.
In 1999, Ton took on a new opportunity. He co-founded a company specialized in the export of Toyota vehicles. This journey concluded in early 2006, when he sold all his shares in the company.
In 2006, Transmotors was born and established in Moerdijk, the Netherlands, with the aim to create a specialized export company in selling and converting Toyota vehicles and spare parts.
2011 marked the 5 year anniversary of Transmotors.
Aside from continuing its own business of trading and converting vehicles, Transmotors started working for Toyota (TTC) in 2006. Transmotors specifically focused on conversions for Toyota’s African distributors.
Working for Toyota proved successful. Just for Toyota, Transmotors converted approximately 800 vehicles per year. In 2006, Transmotors started out in a 2000 m2 facility, but quickly moved into a 4500 m2 facility.
In 2015, Transmotors sold its conversion activities to Toyota (TTC). This division would later be known as CPS.
2016 marked the 10 year anniversary of Transmotors.
From 2016 to 2023, Transmotors returned its focus on selling and converting Toyota vehicles and spare parts, purely for its own trading activities.
2021 marked the 15 year anniversary of Transmotors.
In order to work more efficiently and future-proof its operations, Transmotors moved from their 4500 m2 facility in Moerdijk to a new 6500 m2 facility in Klundert in 2023.
In 2024, Jan Ottevanger took over Transmotors, allowing the family-owned business to be passed on to the next generation.
2026 marks the 20 year anniversary of Transmotors.

We believe that anyone who works at Transmotors deserves to be treated respectfully. This means listening to each other’s views, not interrupting when someone has something to say, no intimidating or racial remarks, no unwanted physical contact and no condescending demeanor.
Everyone who works at Transmotors should communicate in a professional and friendly way; customer service and collaboration are the core values of our company and are implemented and monitored at all levels within the organization. Employees are trained and monitored to obtain and keep the desired level of professionality.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The safety, health and well-being of our employees are the most important factors in our Transmotors policy and decision-making. Our policy is aimed at continuously improving the safety, health and well-being of employees as described in the Dutch “Arbeidsomstandighedenwet”, the Working Conditions Act and additional laws and regulations.
We want to continuously improve the safety, health and well-being of employees. To support this policy, Transmotors requests direct and proactive involvement from all employees. Company management will provide the financial and organizational framework in which these improvements can be presented and maintained.
ENVIRONMENTAL CHAPTER
Protecting the environment is of utmost importance at Transmotors. Of course, we abide by the national and international environmental guidelines through our way of working and the products we provide. But that’s not everything we do.
At Transmotors, all employees are stimulated to make an active contribute to:
Keep company waste separated and discard at allocated locations.
Identify and classify harmful materials as such; these materials are to be kept separately, away from the workplace.
Work in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines, such as safety measures, quality demands and prescribed environmental treatment.
Management monitors that, apart from minimizing waste, all employees separate waste and reuse materials and stationery where applicable. Naturally, the materials are recycled in order to preserve the environment. In recent years, Transmotors has reduced its impact on the environment by:
Installing solar panels, as a source for energy.
Installing LED lighting in the as a more sustainable solution for lighting.

Transmotors is a family-owned business that has been active in the automotive industry for more than 30 years. We’re always striving to modernize and improve the process of our conversions. While conversions may be our core business, providing parts and offering the right accessories play just as an important role in our activities. Although we’re an internationally-organized business (we ship to Africa, South America and Central Asia), Transmotors consists of a small but dedicated team of 12 employees. We always make sure we’re slightly overstaffed, so we can take on any project with all the confidence we need. That said, we prioritize a personal, approachable way of communicating with our clients.
